Let’s get ready for your newborn session

I am so honored to capture the magic and joy of this sweet chapter for your family! This guide will help you prepare for our time together.

It is normal to feel both excitement and nerves going into a photo shoot. I am very comfortable with newborns and new parents and work seamlessly with whatever is going on in any given moment.

My goal is for our session to feel special and low stress.

What to wear?

The most important consideration is your comfort. Wear something that you feel good in, that you can move in, and that you can easily feed your baby in. I recommend mostly solid colors versus something with a loud pattern. Focus on your skin and hair. Adding in elements that have special meaning can be a sweet touch as well, this could be jewelry, a scarf, blanket, etc.

For baby, choose a onesie without feet or a knotted gown so I can snag easy photos of their adorable feet! They can also just be in a diaper and wrapped in a cozy blanket.

What if my baby is cranky?

Your baby can do no wrong. We will move at their pace. A well fed babe tends to be more game for photos, so I recommend feeding them whenever they need to, even if it’s during our session! These images make for beautiful keepsakes too ;-)

Will you pose us?

My style is a blend of portrait, lifestyle and documentary. I will offer guidance on positioning your body, finding the best light, and prompts to capture the love of your sweet family, while also documenting the natural beauty of your connection in each moment. Mostly I want you all to relax and enjoy one another.
